skidding out of June on our faces

Radio silence is usually a sign around here that things got taken off the rails a bit. Don has been madly searching for work but has been denied unemployment from both Colorado and Nebraska, something we hope one day gets remedied, but depending on the government to do the right thing or catch up is not a winning strategy. See, he was laid off from the last job he had before Nebraska and so did start the initial unemployment claim---but he got a job in Nebraska so never claimed a single week on it last September. Given the states love ping ponging financial responsibility--they will do and look for anything to deny you. Nebraska denied him because he had an open claim in Colorado from last September and claimed he could claim in Nebraska after that runs out, we assume in September. And Colorado told Don he couldn't claim in Colorado since he didn't have record of work after September 24, 2019. So that nice $600 bonus? Not happening to benefit us right now and really...what the fuck, universe.

Of course for Don this is par for the course given he literally for some reason has anything easy when ...

time for quiet or time to riot

Seems those are the two choices most of us have. One of my less evolved friends, meaning one of my republican friends tried to tell me she got called racist because she asked for things to just go back to normal. My response ultimately was, this is not your time to air your grievances, this is the time for us to be a bit quiet and listen--the platform right now should be respected for what it is. I told her none of us should want things to go back to normal after this and what happened to that man was murder and I do hope we get some change out of this. My idea of change involves changing the entire philosophy of what our police are to us--perhaps dissolving the idea in some ways and make some concessions that sometimes we don't need people who see their customers or clients or people they serve as enemy combatants--maybe change the way incidents are handled because there is certainly no need to act that way with anyone--we are not animals and we should not be handled like animals by our law enforcement especially, and we absolutely should hold them to ...

riot and revolution

So, I didn't feel overly qualified to comment too much on race relations because I don't have any problems with any races yet cannot claim I am not pretty privileged in terms of who I am and what I look like. Yeah, I have been called white bitch by a few black girls, yeah those instances were certainly rare but happened--I would never claim the US is not largely racist because I see what people say and how they react. I want us to not be this way, but that's not something you can just wish that way.

I do think we have several layers of issues in modern society above and beyond racism but everything deserves its moment and chance to change society at large, but as far as solutions are concerned, we are not focused on that. Right now it's been an incredible evolution to what the fuck was that we saw that man do with his boot on the neck of that that man on the ground to let's torch and rob it all because everyone is pretty poor right now. The irony is realizing some of this looting is due to the abject failure ...
