So, the more I try to reason this whole situation out, the more I realize that the situation is not black and white. There are many shades in between. Think about the money involved in the pursuit of the whole situation: contracts equaling even 10 billion handed to US companies will not even come close to the amount that is being shelled out on a daily basis to fight.

Also, as far as all the lies are concerned regarding chemical or biological warfare, take a look at this:

. In a hospital, no less.

Perhaps it is an ego-driven war, perhaps it is our intention to have the middle east understand that we will not allow them to influence our way of living through terrorist means. However, either way, let's try to form opinions based on facts, as opposed to some punk rock idealogy of hating the government and suspecting every single facet of it to be working as a function of some conspiracy theory.

sick and tired of constant beration

Ok, so you're anti-american. You think our government sucks and as a country of people we therefore, suck. The one question I would ask of anyone who has decided to gang up and pick on people is: how useful are our american dollars to you? Nothing said now has not been said before.

I will write more on this later but the trivializing of life by the constant barrage of insults and all of the "conspiracy theories" are getting kind of old. It makes me sick to think that people who decry the injustices of the american government freely harvest its money, and somehow are not allowed to not be called out as hypocrites.

Like I have said, I do not advocate murder. Nor am I necessarily in favor of war under any circumstances. But it is ...

a little thank you

I wanted to thank all of those who wrote to me, letting me know that my viewpoints, while not always in complete accordance with their own, were respected as just that: my personal opinions. This war, while not justified in its entirety, is something that will affect all of us for many many years to come. I have never been so politcally inclined towards methods of brainwashing by presenting only one side of the issue, so I feel as though my particular opinions hold validity because, not only have I condemmed the act of murder to make any point, but I have also condemmed Saddam for all of his crimes against humanity and decent living.

Perhaps the ideas of democracy do not work for everyone. Perhaps you feel as though the middle east should be left alone to fester in a stinking pile of sand. Either way, what has been done is being done, and I would never disagree that most of us do not have the power to stop the wheel now that it has been set into motion. I do also firmly believe that the whole punk rock idealogy of hating the government because it means you are ...
