So I’ve been to Amsterdam…

We just got back the other day–it appears that the signs of a better life do exist in other places. Don and I spent a great deal of time in Amsterdam this past week and I can tell you there is something beneficial to going to a country which used the US model, but with vast improvements. As the originating democracy, ours emerged out of something but never evolved to accommodate modern life and concerns quite like these guys seem to have managed to do.

There was a different kind of spark in that city–and it is not quiet, but certainly doesn’t seem to be Vegas either, as I guess both he and I were prone to think. There’s emerging pockets of culture all over, and better yet, the ability to buy an apartment for really nothing compared to the past several neighborhoods I have lived in–and there is the reality of what is going on with pre-existing conditions to contend with–if they do what they are going to do, it would mean if you do have employer coverage, you better never quit that job because no way no how will they allow you on without a pretty lengthy grace period is my guess there. Kinda like AFLAC, what is it 18 months before you gain any benefit, 18 months without incident which is stressful enough to think about, let alone succeed at doing. As I have been reminding those not happy to see it–you wanted a man who considered business his first concern. With a businessman you have to look at the bottom line–people who are already sick already cost a lot of money. Cut them off, you have a bunch of them die a little faster, and the population thrives in its healthy remaining. Or maybe that is a terrible fucking insane thing to do and to even think that is a normal thing to subject people to deal with–not humane. They’re lemons, who needs em is probably not unlike a conversation had about us already.

For these and other factors, I really feel done, overcooked, saturated, rotted out in many facets because there is certainly nothing normal about having to consider decisions to be life or death, or as I said, expect the whole country to what, wake up tomorrow with actual consciences? Oh come on now…people worry about what THEY have to worry about. Fuck the rest of us, fuck em all.

We’ve been losing our spark for life here for some time and the working society they have–sure they can tax me 40%–at least I am getting something out of it and at least I am supporting a society that seems cooperative in all the best elements.

It takes planning and money and more than luck but hard work…but we will figure out a way to get over there and make something happen as this world is a terrible one and there is no point to making anything happen in this country anymore. We are moving to the Netherlands and making stuff happen. I am going to be selling a bunch of t-shirts, earrings and hats and getting out of here as soon as we are able. I don’t like what is going on and I don’t think it’s all there is for me.

We quit drinking entirely 10 days ago. There’s a longer story to that, but we will have to save that for later.

That was something new–btw–I need the deco up, purty please, if you still read my things?
