resolution and the evolution of ideas

Denver so far is a welcome experiment in regards to my personal evolution with regard to my business and personal life. Last week was primarily an exercise in acclimation–socially, emotionally and physically. I also have realized that not being stressed to the ends of the earth is terrible in terms of my poetic mind…I realize I was fueled primarily on the strife and stress of NYC life, which in retrospect was definitely killing me, but in other respects probably kept me on my toes a bit.

The passage of time in the West versus the East is almost ridiculous to contemplate…I have always told people that when you wake up in NYC the next minute it is 5 o’clock and your recollection of where the day went was often clouded in layers of distractions which are common when you are sharing such tight quarters with 8 million people. Now, it is before noon and I am almost exhausted. I am sitting in a coffee shop with my mother while she studies for her exams…pretty cute to consider when you contemplate we have very much switched positions. Though it is starting to look like if I do complete a degree it will also more than likely be later in life—I have decided that rushing to that conclusion is not a healthy one for me right now and with everything going on with my many business fronts, I might not need to be trained in the public sector to take on a position needing specific training.

I have come into contact with some pretty awesome people here so far, one who spun one of my business plans into an entirely different direction than I first intended, but it is sooo good I don’t even know what to say. Months ago I wrote about how I was doing those headbands, which were an homage to my penchant for twenties and thirties fashion, and I almost refused to do anything with them in NY/NJ because I didn’t want to have any real business anchors there. The first boutique I showed my examples to here gave me a contract on the spot, which I am going to be handing over tomorrow with some of my headbands. But the twist came after I showed the bands to one of my sister’s friend’s mother’s…who suggested that my inclination to help others might be better expanded upon with this business model to include making head wraps for those who might be suffering from Alopecia or Cancer…and hallelujah to that—I was trying to figure out a way to incorporate the headbands into this site…with the pretense that they would have to benefit others in some way, either by monetary means or directly. And this idea will benefit them very directly. So I have been wracking my brain over the past 48 hours to come up with some kind of name/gimmick, as it becomes infinitely easier to market something with key words that resonate, something I hope to have entangled with the product name. I will be putting these bands up later tonight…

Funny that I was saying not too long ago that most Americans will be hit with either heart disease or cancer, and both I am sure I will become readily acquainted with given my experiences with radiation and the like. In my efforts to educate others on a healthier lifestyle to combat heart disease, I will hopefully be able to take a stance which will not only deter heart disease, but certain types of cancer as well…and for those who unfortunately have been gifted with either, fashion choices which will help these patients in the coping process—either by funding the scholarship to help cardiac patients, but also giving women a bit of their dignity back by giving them something just as beautiful as hair to adorn their heads via…

My birth father is a super entrepreneur and so are most of his kids…he wants to take credit for the genes, and I will give him that…I am terrible working for things I don’t believe in, and I am really just starting to believe in me.

Still, everything I read that you write is wicked inspirational. I’m glad you are you! If it’s just a brand name you are looking for, you could try something sassy with the same message you want to convey…..maybe Tenaciously Yours……or Tenacity Blue…..perhaps go the “hip” route; something like cOr (latin for heart and/or courage)….or maybe Beharrlichkeit (the German word for perseverance. I don’t know; just some ideas.

    Jared,

Sheesh yeah….too many ideas. Thanks for being so sweet–you Colorado cats just seem to be a little more with it in regards to appreciating people who are trying to do good things. And actually saying something about it, which is even more unusual compared to where I come from.

Head to the Heart is where I am going…the url somebody is sitting on to sell but I am not doing that…it will just be a side business for this site as a whole, and I can make tags for that easily.

One of my best friends in NY gave me that…it might evolve into something else, but I am just happy I own the sites I do…(admittedly like 8, haha).

Thanks for being so positive Jared…it’s an awesome thing for sure.

    I like it!
Simple, witty, and cozy-feeling, somehow also a very strong name.
