camo legs and all

I have decided to refer to my stems as camo mottled--that's what happens when you use your body as a counter weight vs just dead-lifting everything. But, if you knew me at all, you'd realize I take that as a suggestion, not as a rule (avoiding that). I hate depending on people for stuff I can do, and clearly maybe I shouldn't do it, but let's be real--I am terrible at depending on other people as a general rule.

Of course I have escaped some of the trappings of relying on just me with my semi-retirement last November. In hindsight it was obviously all the best timing with that anyways. I mean, yeah, my bp was in the high 150's so definitely not something to continue on, but with the valve in there fucking everything up, it ended up being a pretty easy decision to justify later, though I certainly didn't tell anyone in my family for a bit...well, the family I know well, of course.

So, we high-tailed it out of Denver a little over a week ago now--we have been in Virginia for some days and wow, what a difference. Nothing here is on fire, in fact it's ...

new realizations…

Ok you guys--I am doing the thing I allowed myself today though I did fuck around on FB for an hour. Not a smart thing to do being so stressed out by the move, but maybe the best thing to do. I think my permanent hermit site is going to be something worth ...

Sorry for the radio silence, party people. It was definitely not my fault this time--I had asked to renew these sites but the admin had an accident and could not get them up. Luckily for me, he got them renewed just in time. Owning these sites as long as I have--as I said to Don. "I legit am leaving nothing tangible except this blog because I haven't done anything great or noteworthy...yet." So I was pretty upset--the poor guy had several of me crying into his voicemail with things like "I have to have another open heart surgery I might not survive, this is ALL I have, please please please please renew it." I know, the drama, right? But ultimately it was absolutely true. See, I am moving again. And moving is always stressful, I don't care who you are, it just is.

Right now I am in the midst of packing the life Don and I have made for ourselves the past nearly 10 years. This involves throwing away maybe 70% of its tangible remnants and prioritizing what I am going to move 1800 miles in the opposite direction. Again. For any of you who know me know ...
