Don’t be an April Fool

Aspartame. The frisky ingredient in most diet sodas. A lovely chemical that turns into formaldehyde in its breakdown.

My favorite quotes are here:

“The FDA reviewed Searle’s studies of this artificial sweetener in which

rats were fed aspartame daily with their meals for one year.  There were

12 brain tumors in the 320 rats that were fed aspartame and no brain

tumors in the 120 rats that were not fed aspartame.

There was also a study done at the University of Wisconsin on rhesus

monkeys.  they were fed aspartame daily.  After  day 200 of a one year

study the monkeys developed epileptic seizures.  After the study ended,

the aspartame was discontinued and the monkeys were fully watched for

60 days.  The monkeys had no more seizures.”

About Nutrasweet: ” It is a powerful
metabolic poison”, Martini laments, ” a witch’s brew of breakdown
products. The methanol-wood alcohol-converts to formaldehyde and
finally formic acid (ant sting poison). The breakdown product of
diketopiperazine, DKP, is a tumor agent.”

This, about a man who had diabets who drank diet soda and coffee sweetened with nutrasweet:
“His sister’s, Minerva Ortiz and Nydia Colon, told me that the funeral
director had never seen a body deteriorate as quickly and was puzzled
by the formaldehyde content before embalming”.

“Aspartame has become a staple of the American diet, yet flies won’t touch  it”.

So the concluding statements that can be made about your diet soda and aspartame via the linked articles following are:

1) you could easily join Deanna’s bad heart club if you drink diet soda in abundance.

2) you could develop brain tumors the same way.

3) you could develop seizures, unexplained any other way.

4) there are lots of fun diseases
that, combined with asparatame ingestion to a great degree, make a fun
party-time cocktail of death

5) there is a literal stench that your
dead body makes due to accelerated decomposition due to the
formaldehyde
metabolized into your tissue.
6) it interacts with other drugs and affects dopamine levels.

here’s one
and another

This is the best thing I could come up with for an April Fool’s
joke. Something that everyone should be aware of, so you can stop being
Fools, that is.  I first became aware of this fun fact a few
years ago via this book:

cultural myths Compiled by Editor: Russ Kick

I just know that book must be awesome. Right now I’m reading a book called Propoganda and the Public Mind. It’s all interviews with Naom Chomsky only a year or so before 9-11. Most interestingly is a chapter all about the United States attacking Iraq.

      I own it.

You should check it out. It’s brilliant, and quite interesting. Of course, it also doesn’t claim to be the be all end all of source information for these claims. This is supported by the multiple reference points for every chapter/

We can do a book trade when you are done.

You may also be interested in “Toxic Sludge is Good For You”. I don’t remember the names of the authors. It’s about the Public Relations industry and it’s sinister dealings in all of our lives. Apparrently P.R. used to be proudly called Propoganda (before the Russians got ahold of it and made it into an American bad word) and was hailed as a science and art form. Anyway there is a really great part about the Automotive industry in the 1940’s. They wanted to sell cars with bigger engines that would go faster. The easiest way would be to use gasoline with lead in it. People have known since the times of the Romans that lead is really bad for you, but with the help of a massive public relations campaign they swayed public opinion and got legislation allowing leaded gasoline pushed through.

Always a thrill knowing that our most priveledged citizens and and the government that cowtoes to them wants nothing to do with our best interests.
